Tobacco smoke billows from her nostrils, as her green eyes devour him beneath the incandescent light. Crowds cheer as the warm up act's riffs crescendo. Pulling a pencil from her hair, the waitress takes his order...bourbon on the rocks. "The band are gonna be awesome tonight," she proclaims, igniting his anticipation. Influences not only include Sun Ra, but the masterful J Dilla as well as jazz pianist, Ahmad Jamal. To combine lush keys, harmonising horns and vibrato strings with the E-MU 6400 to create a rich bottom end. Together, Assonance and Bane deliver a stellar addition to the Hexmark catalogue using some of the best outboard equipment available to deliver a punchy, yet organic sound; one that’s vibrant and electrifying in true 70s style.
